Privacy Policy

Privacy is a product requirement for iPerf3 Client & Server, not an optional setting.

Last updated: February 26, 2026

Privacy Summary

No account, no ads, no analytics tracking, and no telemetry pipeline. Test data stays on your device unless you explicitly export it.

1. Scope

This policy applies to iPerf3 Client & Server on Apple platforms and Android.

2. Data Collection

We do not collect personal data.

  • No user account system
  • No ad SDKs
  • No third-party analytics SDKs
  • No location tracking
  • No cloud sync of your results

3. What Is Stored Locally

The app stores operational data on your device so core functionality works:

  • Configured server profiles (host, port, labels)
  • Test history and metrics
  • App preferences (theme, language, defaults)
  • Exports you create (CSV/JSON)

4. Network Connections

The app opens connections only for functional purposes:

  • To iPerf3 endpoints you choose for test execution
  • To optional public server listings when you browse them
  • To app stores for updates and purchase management

5. Permissions

  • Local Network for LAN server discovery and connectivity
  • Notifications (optional) for test completion alerts

You can control permissions through your OS settings at any time.

6. Export and Sharing

When you export results, files are generated locally. Where those files are sent next is fully controlled by you through system share targets.

7. Security Model

  • Platform sandboxing isolates app data
  • Device-level protections (lockscreen encryption policies) apply
  • No persistent external storage controlled by us

8. Third-Party Services

The app does not rely on advertising networks or external analytics services for normal operation.

9. Children

The app does not request age, identity, or profile data from any user.

10. Policy Updates

When this policy changes, the date at the top of this page is updated and release notes may reference the change.
